On Saturday, May 18th, the Simmons team and their family members once again took the liberty of cleaning up Westlake Park in Bloomingdale, IL. Simmons Knife & Saw officially adopted the park and was recognized as its sponsor in 2019. Since then, Simmons has held multiple volunteer cleanup events at the park, which has led to great results.
“I’ve always been a big proponent of giving back to the community you’re in,” said Simmons’ President & Owner Colin Murphy. “Not only are we located in Glendale Heights but many of our employees and their families are also from the surrounding area, so we’re happy to help improve their community however we can.”
While Simmons’ management team does encourage employees to participate in volunteer events like the Westlake Park cleanup, it’s worth noting that there usually isn’t a shortage of volunteers.
“It’s very gratifying to know that many of our employees share our value of giving back to our community. Whenever we hold an event like the park cleanup, I know I can depend on Simmons’ employees to come, bring their families, and make a day out of it. I think that’s a testament to the culture here,” said Simmons’ Director of Human Resources Michele Kuper.
Simmons plans to continue cleaning up Westlake Park each year and plan more volunteer events soon to give back to Glendale Heights and its neighboring communities. Stay tuned for future updates!
