SPECIAL NOTCH BLADES
Special Notch blades are modified versions of Simmons’ Knife Edge blades. The angular notches along the edge of the blade provide greater material penetration while maintaining the same clean cut. Special Notch blades can be used in machinery with or without knife grinders. However, machinery with functional knife grinders will resharpen and further extend the life of the blade.
Recommended cutting applications for Special Notch blades:
- Low-density foam
- Medium-density foam
- Non-woven materials
Consistently delivering high-quality blades has been key to Simmons’ success throughout the years. As part of our reliable welds guarantee, if a Simmons blade breaks at the weld, just let us know and we’ll replace that blade for you.

As part of our Special Notch blade production process, Simmons offers an additional option to harden the cutting edge of the blade in order to extend overall blade life.
Pitch is the distance from point to point. Our standard Special Notch blades have a ¼” pitch.
