Simmons Celebrates 75th Anniversary

by SIMMONS / 04 October 2021 / Published in News

Simmons Knife & Saw is proud to officially announce that this year marks our 75th anniversary as a bandknife and bandsaw blade manufacturer.

Founded in 1946, Simmons got its start producing bread slicing blades and consumer cutlery. However, by 1953, Simmons’ leadership has discerned a market shift toward welded Scallop bands for large-scale bread slicing operations. As a result, the business renewed its focus on the production of welded Scallop bandknife blades as well as new edge types for other emerging applications.

Today, Simmons Knife & Saw stands as one of the most prominent players in the foam fabrication industry and has essentially become synonymous with bandknife and bandsaw blade expertise across the globe. We currently offer a wide range of products, including 21 unique edge types, for cutting, sawing, and slicing a variety of materials across more than a dozen industries. We owe most of this success to two amazing groups of people, the first of which is our customers.

We’d like to take this time to thank each and every one of our customers for their loyalty and support. Some of them have been with us for 30 years, some have been with us for three weeks, but they all believe in the quality products and service we provide, and that means the world to us.

Now, the Fun Stuff

The second group of people we owe thanks to is Simmons’ valued employees! Simmons has always invested in our employees and been very grateful for the effort they put in while on the job. With a momentous occasion like our 75th anniversary, it only seemed right to show them just how much we appreciate them. That’s why we recently held an anniversary party for all our employees!

On September 21, we held a pig roast at our headquarters in Glendale Heights, IL. Employees were invited to eat and drink as much, play yard games like bag toss, and participate in raffles for various items throughout the event. We’d like to say it was a massive success, but we may be a bit biased, so we’ll let you decide. Check out pictures from our 75th anniversary party below!
