Upgrade Your Carcass Splitting Operations with Simmons’ DuraSplit Carcass Blade

by Andrew Noonan / 25 April 2024 / Published in Blade Tips

It’s not every day that we get to show off a new product for the first time, so, with that in mind, we’re ecstatic to introduce you to Simmons’ DuraSplit Carcass blade.

What’s the difference between Simmons’ standard SimCut Butcher blades and the DuraSplit Carcass blade?

Simmons’ standard SimCut Butcher blades are 5/8” thick and produced from specialized steel with a superior tooth configuration. They are designed to help lower cutting costs while still yielding fast, clean cuts with minimal waste. The manufacturing process for butcher blades also incorporates precise hardening for extended blade life and strict set and length tolerances for precise cuts.

Simmons’ DuraSplit carcass blade takes advantage of the same seamlessly efficient design of our SimCut Butcher blades. However, there are two key differences between the two.

First, DuraSplit blades utilize a wider strip steel, which increases the blade’s beam strength to ensure straight cuts through the toughest of materials.

Second, while SimCut Butcher blades are made from our typical carbon or stainless steel, the new DuraSplit blade is manufactured using a higher grade of steel, making it considerably more durable than standard butcher blades. Not only is this increased durability essential when it comes to intense, high-volume carcass-splitting operations, but it also helps maintain an aggressive cutting tooth profile for a longer period. All of this helps to reduce machine downtime and maximize your productivity.

Recommended applications for the DuraSplit Carcass blade

The DuraSplit Carcass blade is perfect for sawing through a variety of tough meat and vertebrae. Meat processors and slaughterhouses will find it useful in splitting fat cattle, bulls, oxen, horses, hogs, and sows.

OEM compatibility

We typically find that most of our customers in the meat processing industry use handheld Jarvis bandsaws like the BUSTER 5 or 6. Simmons’ DuraSplit Carcass blades are designed to be compatible with all Jarvis bandsaws. On the off chance that you’re not using a Jarvis bandsaw for your carcass-splitting operations, we can work with you to manufacture DuraSplit blades that are compatible with your specific OEM’s bandsaw as well.
