Skinner blades used in fish and meat processing.

Simmons’ customers should expect to hear from our sales team about these great new offerings while we continue to supply them with the same great blades they have come to know for the last 78 years.

Overcoming Economic and Geopolitical Issues

As I mentioned earlier, when entering a new year, it’s hard not to think about geopolitical issues and how they could affect the global economy and Simmons’ ability to sell in certain markets.

Trying to read the tea leaves (so to speak) is always a challenge. It’s hard to know which way the overall economy is going to go. The U.S. is looking flat to slightly up. Europe is still a pretty tough market and they’re not forecasting a whole lot of growth there. So, if we plan on simply riding the economy, we’re not going to meet our targets. The only way to meet those targets is to expand our reach, which I think we have been doing.

A Commitment to Profitable Growth

My mantra for 2024 is profitable growth. We want to make sure we’re growing in a smart way. That means taking care of our existing customer base first and foremost. After that, it’s expanding our customer base with the new products I mentioned earlier.

All the investments we’ve made over the last year and a half are giving us the capabilities to not only improve capacity but also offer an entirely new product range. It’s really exciting that we’re going to be able to offer those to our existing customers as well as knock on doors that we haven’t been able to knock on before because we haven’t had the proper product offering to satisfy those customers. But now we do, so we can.

In Conclusion

Simmons’ innovative spirit is at the heart of our growth strategy for 2024. By introducing a diverse range of new products, from advanced carcass blades to specialized packaging solutions and reciprocating scallop blades, we’re not only meeting current market demands but also anticipating future needs.

That being said, new products will only get us so far without an unwavering commitment to providing superior customer service experience, AKA communicating with customers promptly and making sure they receive blades when they need them. Our customer’s productivity is our responsibility, so we make every effort to support them and their growth objectives as well.

Stay tuned for more updates from Simmons throughout the year or contact us today if you have any questions about your cutting operations and how we can help.
