Bi-Metal blades are incredibly effective at cutting through notoriously hard or abrasive material, like metals with a hardness maximum of 50 on the Rockwell C scale. Simmons’ Bi-Metal blades are no exception. Utilizing a 4% chromium alloy backing and specially hardened M42 high-speed steel tooth tips, these blades can easily withstand the intense stress exerted upon them by high-production bandsaw machines.

Manufactured from high carbon steel with hardened tooth tips, the Flexback blade is one of the most versatile bandsaw blades in Simmons’ catalog. Compared to the Hardback blade, the Flexback blade’s more flexible backing increases its fatigue resistance while still providing consistently even cuts. It’s ideal for straight or radius cuts in a variety of cutting applications, including medium-density foam, high-density foam, wood, metal, and more.

While still manufactured from a single piece of high carbon steel with individually hardened tooth tips, Simmons’ Furniture Bands are actually a bit thicker than the Flexback blade. That increased thickness makes for a stiffer blade, allowing for a more controlled cut as a result.

Manufactured from high carbon steel, the Hardback blade is ideal for cutting through medium to high-density foams, wood, non-ferrous metals, and mild steel. Its hardened backing allows the blade to be tightened to a greater tension than the Flexback blade. This greater tension, coupled with individually hardened teeth, leaves the Hardback blade as the unrivaled choice for truly straight cuts through even the toughest applications.

The Simcor® blade was created in response to customers requesting a blade that was effective at cutting through heavy or dense foam and cardboard products. Since then, it’s become a fast favorite for converters of bubble wrap and other packaging materials wrapped around a cardboard core. It’s also proved to be an incredibly effective bone and tissue processing blade.
