Simmons initially introduced the B-3 blade as an alternative to the SimCut® Butcher blade, specializing in cutting boneless meats. However, the blade proved to be effective at cutting more than just meat.
The B-3 blade’s convex profile and hardened cutting edge provides an aggressive slice through soft product applications without creating dust or leaving ragged edges. It is especially effective at cutting fibrous material, as opposed to other blades that may tear or pull on the product being cut. Users typically report less dust, excellent product penetration, and an increase in material yield (particularly in boneless meat cutting applications).
Mini B-3 Blades
The Mini B-3 blade was developed to replace Knife Edge blades in boneless meat cutting applications. Available in both welded band and cut-to-length form, the Mini B-3 eliminates the need for resharpening and is perfect for slicing boneless meats and other reciprocating applications. For further convenience, it is available in both carbon and stainless steel.

In order to further extend the life of B-3 blades, we’ve made hardening the cutting edge of the blade a standard part of the production process.

Pitch is the distance from point to point. Standard B-3 blades have a ¾” pitch, but we also offer a ¼” pitch. Standard Mini B-3 blades have a ¼" pitch.
